Usually, I try to do the whole blog every day October challenge. But last year, and the year before, I fell short. Way short. I start with the best of intentions, and then, well, you know…
This year, I made no such commitment. This October, I hit my second trimester, our family was adjusting to our new home, I just launched my new membership site, and my sister got married. So, we had a lot going on.
That said, I really feel called to write more. As a creative outlet, and because I feel I have stories to share. I have two in particular that I want to get written, edited, & published ASAP.
So, I’m going back to NaNoWriMo!

So, for NaNoWriMo this year, I thought I would do it the traditional way, of just writing a full first draft. However, as it has started, I have realized this won’t work for me. So, this year, I’m still aiming for 50,000 words – but it will be within two stories. So, just call me a NaNo Rebel.
My goal, then, is to edit/publish these books within the first few months of 2020.
During November, I will post periodic updates of how the process is going, a glimpse into how it works on the road (we are taking a 2+ week road trip during that time…), and just some overall NaNoWriMo merriment.
I’m very excited to share this journey with you, and hope you enjoy reading about it!
So far, I have hit every word count goal of NaNoWrimo, each day. It’s been quite a wild ride. And, I also have a side project I started for when I hit a road block with either of my stories. So far it’s been a great start, I already hit 10,000 words (a fifth of the way there). And, I’m discovering a whole community of authors that are also on this journey.
I can’t wait to update you, soon!
