I actually had another post planned for today, but now at the end of my day I’m too tired (and I’ll admit, irritated by somethings that came up today) to give that post the attention I’d like.
So, tonight, I’m going to share a verse that I came across re-reading through a book called Spoken For: Embracing Who You Are and Whose You Are (By Robin Jones Gunn & Alyssa Joy Bethke. I highly recommend getting it.)
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”
– Jeremiah 31:3
This is spoken to Israel about their time in exile, their time scattered, and the time thereafter. Though God had disciplined them, He called them back to Himself out of love.
The same love He has for us in our sin & brokenness, in our attempts to live in the light, and in our time of redemption.
If we will make the choice to live in the light, His lovingkindness follows us, and we become a part of that verse.
I can’t imagine choosing anything else…
