MIGHTY

I have been struggling with this word since I received it in December.

I prayed over my “One Word” for 2014, and there it was again: Mighty.

Now, for Five Minute Friday: Mighty.

Lately, I have felt anything but.

Behind in school, struggling at my practicum, learning a new job. I am severely lagging in my goals for the year (I know, it’s only March, but I’m already playing catch-up).

Ever since I got this word, a verse has also been popping up. One I haven’t bee paying attention to. One that reminds me where the might truly comes from. A verse that reminds me He is mighty in my life.

Zephaniah 3:17:

“The Lord your God is in your midst
A mighty one who will save,
He will rejoice over you with gladdness;
He will quiet you by his love;
He will exult you with loud singing.”

What a verse!

I may feel low, behind, struggling, lagging, weak – everything but mighty, but,

He is in my life
He is mighty in my life
He rejoices over me
He quiets me by his great love
He exults me with song.

And, because of this, I will learn to be mighty by relying on his might.
