Light

Hello again! Back from another hiatus…life is so crazy busy. That’s why I love 5 Minute Fridays. 5 minutes is pretty easy to spare.

With today being Good Friday, the topic chosen is Light.

So, here I go, writing for 5 minutes, no over-thinking & minimal edits.

Today’s topic is light. And, today it seems all around me. The sun is shining and The Son reigns in my heart.

Though, I haven’t been spending as much time with Him as I should, today He is reminding me how blessed I truly am. How He has come through time and time again. How my anxiety or lack of faith never nullifies His faithfulness (Romans 3:3-4).

I know I am blessed if for no other reason than over 2000 years ago, He hung on a cross, bloodied and beaten in order to save my soul. He pleaded to have that fate pass from Him, but in the end, His greatest desire was to do His Father’s will and save me (Luke 22:39-44).

If this picture is familiar to you, He did this for you, too. Take heart, dear one, in knowing that your soul is redeemed by His blood… If this picture is unfamiliar to you, He did it for you, too. Regardless of knowing or not knowing, He knew each of you.

Today, as I go through my day, I remember that gift of Light so long ago. It started with God’s first words “Let there be light” and culminated on a Cross, and my redemption symbol: an empty tomb. He Conquered and Rose just for me and you.

Keep that in your mind and heart today as you go about your busy-ness this Good Friday.
