Expectation

This is a Five Minute Friday post…on Saturday.

The rule is: write for five minutes, no editing. Just let it come.

This week’s topic is: Expectation.

Ready? GO:

I recently started a one year challenge for myself: make my life over in one year. Though I have enjoyed the past few years, and I have learned so much, I have become lazy and unfulfilled. I have allowed myself to doubt my future, settling for less than what I know God is calling me to be.

With this challenge comes high expectations, and I have already let myself down. It’s from May-May, and the goal is to clear out things I don’t need, be a better steward of what God has given me, and learn to take care of the body He has entrusted me with.

So far, I have only eliminated a few trashbags of trash, and one box of giveaways, and have only recently begun to go to the gym (without changing my day to day eating habits, mind you).

However, even though progress is slow, I know I am moving forward, and I know God sees the steps I have taken. So, though progress is slow, my expectations of the final result are still HIGH. By next May, I will be a much better steward of the life God has blessed me with.

(And, now you can expect it too :o)

  1. I totally understand where you are coming from! I started working on my “make over” in 2010 and it is on-going. I have made progress though! I want to encourage you in this…it sounds like God has stirred your heart to make this journey and he will provide as you seek to become the gal He made you to be! Don't succumb to the “noon day demon” when you feel like you've failed, just keep starting each day for what it is…a brand new chance to succeed.
